Calcium Powder (Calcium Carbonate, CaCO₃)** is the most widely used inorganic powder filler in the industrial field, commonly known as "limestone powder" or "calcite powder". It is prepared from natural minerals or chemical synthesis, presenting as a white, odorless powder with stable chemical properties and high cost performance. It is widely used in plastics, rubber, papermaking, coatings, building materials, food, medicine and other industries.

I.Product Classification and Characteristics

1. Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC)

Raw Material: High-quality calcite, marble, limestone

Process: Physical crushing, grinding and classification (no chemical reaction)

Appearance: White powder with irregular particles

Core Parameters:

CaCO₃ Content: ≥97.0%~98.5%

Whiteness: 88%~93%

Particle Size: 325~3000 Mesh (5~50μm)

Bulk Density: 0.8~1.3g/cm³

Oil Absorption Value: 40~60mL/100g

Moisture: ≤0.3%

Advantages: Low cost, wide source, good stability, low oil absorption value and large filling capacity

2. Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC)

Process: Limestone calcination → slaking → carbonation → drying → classification (chemical synthesis)

Appearance: White ultra-fine powder with regular particles (spindle/diamond shape)

Core Parameters:

CaCO₃ Content: ≥98.0%~99.0%

Whiteness: 92%~96%

Particle Size: 1~10μm (nano-grade up to 20~100nm)

Bulk Density: 0.5~0.7g/cm³

Oil Absorption Value: 60~90mL/100g

Advantages: High purity, good whiteness, fine particle size, excellent dispersibility and strong reinforcing property

3. Activated (Modified) Calcium Carbonate

Process: Surface modification of GCC/PCC with coupling agent (e.g., stearic acid)

Characteristics: Oil-philic and water-repellent surface, excellent compatibility with polymers (plastics/rubber)

Advantages: Improve the toughness, strength, heat resistance and processing fluidity of products

4. Nano Calcium Carbonate

Particle Size: 1~100nm

Characteristics: Small size effect,functional reinforcement

Application: High-end plastics, rubber, coatings, adhesives, sealants

GCC: PVC pipes/profiles, films, injection moldings — cost reduction, volume increase, improvement of rigidity/heat resistance

GCC: Newsprint, packaging paper — filler, whitening, improvement of smoothness/opacity, cost reduction

 

PCC: Coated paper, art paper — coating pigment, high gloss, high retention rate

4. Coatings/Paints/Inks

Extender pigment, replacing part of titanium dioxide — thickening, anti-settling, improvement of covering power, gloss and leveling property

Inks: Adjust viscosity, drying speed and printing adaptability

5. Building Materials and Construction

Cement, concrete, putty powder, gypsum board, tile adhesive — increase strength, stability and reduce cost

6. Food and Medicine (Food Grade/Pharmaceutical Grade)
