Insulation grade diatomaceous earth is a lightweight, porous mineral material derived from diatom fossils, with a core component of silicon dioxide (78%-85%) and low bulk density (0.35-0.45g/cm³). As a high-performance building insulation material, it is processed through high-temperature calcination to enhance thermal stability and insulation properties.
Its unique porous structure (porosity 85%-92%, closed-cell ratio ≥70%) reduces thermal conductivity to 0.055-0.070W/(m·K)—lower than traditional insulation materials (e.g., perlite, glass wool). It is fire-resistant (melting point ~1400℃), non-combustible, and has good sound absorption (noise reduction 15-20dB), making it ideal for wall panels, roof insulation, and industrial kiln linings. Chemically stable, it is resistant to moisture, aging, and acid/alkali corrosion, ensuring a service life of over 20 years in building applications.
