Natural mica powder is refined from high-purity muscovite & phlogopite mica ore via dry/wet ultrafine crushing, classified from 20 mesh up to 3000 mesh, available in white and golden yellow grades for diversified industrial manufacturing worldwide. In coatings & paint manufacturing, mica’s lamellar structure arranges parallel inside paint film to build a labyrinth barrier, effectively blocking moisture, UV ray and corrosive chemical penetration, greatly lifting coating anti-chalking, anti-cracking, water-proof and outdoor weather resistance; meanwhile it works as cost-effective pigment extender to brighten color tone, improve paint suspension property and enhance substrate adhesion for architectural exterior paint, anti-corrosion industrial coating, fire retardant coating and automotive metallic finish. Replacing partial expensive resin fillers cuts clients’ raw material cost without downgrading finished coating quality, one of its core economic advantages for paint producers.
For plastic and rubber compounding, graded mica powder serves as reinforcing filler to boost product dimensional stability, lower molding shrinkage rate, improve tensile strength, heat deformation resistance and anti-aging performance; it reduces finished plastic warpage under high temperature, upgrades rubber’s flame retardancy and corrosion resistance, applicable to auto plastic parts, PVC profiles, engineering plastics and various synthetic rubber products such as SBS rubber. Besides, coarse-spec mica (40–60 mesh) is standard raw material for welding electrode coating, forming stable protective slag during welding to isolate air oxidation and avoid weld crack, widely used in mild steel electrode production.
